SPECIAL PROJECTS > Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Imus
Bishop's Message
Normal 0
The Diocese of Imus will mark 50 years of its establishment in 2011. The three-year preparatory period towards the Jubilee bears a truly Caviteño theme, “Tena, mag-KA-RA-KOL tayo!” People of God in Imus, dance your usual karakol in praise of the gracious God and the generations of prophets and friends of God who people our history. But the jubilee karakol is not just the dance we know. KA stands for kahapong kay yaman, ating gunitain (2009). RA stands for radikal na pagsunod kay Kristo (2010). KOL stands for kolektibong pagkilos (2011). These are the three steps of our jubilee dance: gratitude, discipleship and communion in mission. A much better dance, I cannot imagine.
It is with great joy that the Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral Choir of Imus joins in the music and dancing to pave the way for the Jubilee. Coming from various parishes in the Diocese, the members of the Choir will guide us, even if only through glimpses, into the dynamism of faith that has made us God’s People in Imus. The present concert is their contribution to KA-hapong kay yaman, ating gunitain. Under the able guidance of Sir Oscar O. Pantaleon, Jr., the choir will make us remember so that we can commit ourselves again to the God who calls us to mission.
To our friends and benefactors, we extend our thanks. We also invite you to dance our steps and to sing our dreams. “Tena, mag-KA-RA-KOL tayo” in praise of the Thrice Holy God and our Mother, Our Lady of the Pillar.
